Of late, the word “REPENTANCE” hasn’t been frequently mentioned in this modern 21st Century Church as it used to be in the days of the early church. The early church hammered on this word in almost every city they go with the Word. Think of Jonah’s words changing an entire city of Niniveh in just three days [Jonah 3:2-10]. We now have many churches, but sin is still increasing. Why?
Jesus said to them, “Go into ALL the world and preach the GOSPEL to ALL CREATION ” – Mark 16:15 | NIV
This Scripture doesn’t mean all Christians should be full time ministers but preachers of the gospel EVERYWHERE, not just pulpits. Your home, neighbourhood, workplace, etc must hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
“Soul winning is the heartbeat of God “
Never approach a person who is a sinner by nature or someone who lives in SIN by condemning their sins. You do no good to such people. Instead, you tell the person about the awesome love of God and how God longs to be the friend of each person on this world despite their background.
You should also know that you can’t force salvation on someone. The person has to wilfully decide to accept Jesus into one’s life, not by force after preaching.
“Even though salvation is the most necessary gift on earth from God, yet it’s not received by force but willingly. ”
The person (repentant) has to believe in Jesus that He came to die for our sins from the HEART, NOT MIND.
“That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and SHALL BELIEVE IN YOUR HEART that God has RAISED Him from the dead, you SHALL be SAVED.” – Romans 10:9 | KJV
After believing from your heart, what’s left is to confess Christ with your mouth. That’s where many times, the repentant is led through a simple prayer.
SAMPLE: “Father, I thank You that You sent Your son Jesus to die for my sins. Today, I accept you as my Lord and personal saviour. From today, I will serve You. Thank You for saving me. Amen “
That’s it. The person doesn’t need to feel it that he or she is saved. It’s by faith.
God bless you.
